Edmund, a musclebound college-aged anthro tiger, stands before a table with a big grin on his face and a number of charts and tables displayed in front of him. A d20 floats above his hand, as if he just cast it forward. Lighting emanates both from his body and the dice.

Game Master Edmund

“Alright, guys. Roll fer initiative.”

Edmund had been a member of the group for long enough now that the image of a hard, scary former prize fighter had given way to the curious, game-loving kitty cat underneath a mountain of muscle. The Trailblazer players in his dorm were happy to see him even without Morty’s mollifying presence.

Yet still, as their last campaign came to an end, even they were surprised when the young pugilist and mage-in-training volunteered to be the Game Master of their next Trailblazer adventurer. Wendella didn’t mind, as that meant she’d finally have the chance to be a normal player.

Of course, she still helped him out while he was getting started with his planning, given advice when asked. But for the most part Edmund was happy to handle the heavy lifting, even if that came at the cost of a lecture when Enigma caught him writing Trailblazer notes in the middle of tutelage.

He knew there was an almost 100% chance that something would go wrong: Either the party would find a solution he wasn’t prepared for, or go down a rabbit hole that had nothing to do with the main thread. It didn’t bother him though.

Edmund was the apprentice of Enigma, the Great Detective and thespian extraordinaire. His mentor roped him into enough stage productions in their time together that he knew how to improvise when something went off script.

Thanks to Vnix on BSky for this excellent piece. The fun thing about Edmund is that beneath all the muscle and physicality, there’s a nerdy college kid underneath. I wanted to give that part of his character a moment to shine.
