Surveying the Mountains

To the Magistrum, and the plane of Crossroads as a whole, Planeswalkers are extremely valuable. Many of its inhabitants trace their roots to other planes, their ancestors summoned by the Planeswalkers of old, when they still possessed god-like powers.

The Magistrum ever seeks to preserve and archive the cultures and traditions of these peoples, so that their descendants have access to the history that would otherwise be lost to them. Even still, it is inevitable that not all knowledge can be captured and preserved before those who bear it pass away.

That’s where Planeswalkers come in. Whether born of Crossroads or deciding to settle there later in life, the Magistrum hires them to fill in the gaps in their archives, usually by traveling to the original plane it came from, learning from the peoples who still inhabit them.

As a professor and Planeswalker both, Enigma is ever eager to explore. In the off seasons, when class isn’t in session, he will often set forth on long journeys to other planes, fueled by a curious mind.

Even when said journeys bring him to the frigid mountains of another world, knowledge is its own reward.

I’m starting to realize as I post these lore snippets that Symbiote Enigma was really just an excuse to make my primary character shirtless and muscular.

This piece from LittleBadWolf in May of 2022 is another such piece, and another chance to drop a snippet of world-building.
