Showing Off

Unlike Enigma’s Perfect Form, enhanced by his symbiote Companion, Edmund has no special tricks or cheats. His strength and physique are the result of his own efforts and a life of pushing himself as far as he can go.

You’d never know it from looking at him, but the young man began life as a relentlessly bullied, frail child. Parents missing, Edmund fond solace in the gym and the solid support of like-minded folk, transforming himself into the power tiger you see today. He’s done well for himself, and there’s nothing wrong with doing a little playful show-boating every now and then.

Of course, don’t let him catch you picking on someone else, because the trauma of his childhood won’t let him look passed that, and you’ll be in for a beating you won’t soon forget. It’s why he’s both popular with the students and a pain in the butt for his teachers, but Enigma wouldn’t have it any other way.

Another piece from the incredible Marsel-Defender, commissioned as a YCH back in February.

At the time this was written, I had the rough outline of Volpes and the basic premise behind his character (which we will get to later on). However, it was in its very early stages, barely thought out. I had not even begun to link him to Edmund in my head, in any conceivable way.

Thus, Edmund was originally, genuinely thought up as someone whose strength was retired earned through his own merit. Anyone reading this who knows my modern lore may be genuinely surprised to hear that, but it’s true.

It’s funny to think about how much things change overtime. Gradually, in unexpected and fascinating ways.
