Self-Treatment
Enigma: “I find it difficult to believe that a man in your position, with your physique, would ever have need of caution.”
Volpes: “You seem to be under the mistaken impression that I’m either invincible or immortal, Detective. I assure you that I am neither.”
Enigma: “The way your partner throws himself into danger, repeatedly, leads me to draw some conclusions.”
Volpes: “Hmph. That’s just how Az operates. It is true that we titans heal faster than the average person, and that we can handle harsher conditions, but we can still be harmed. And if an injury is severe enough, it can still demand treatment.”
Enigma: “Personal experience, I take it.”
Volpes: “Something like that. Fortunately, I always had a skilled physician on hand.”

Another piece of old Volpes from Marsel-Defender, except it took me way longer to post it. This piece was completed back in August of 2023, and finally posted in April of 2024.
The conversation on how tough titans are has always been there since Volpes’s debut, but I’ve never been one to use raw numbers when writing fiction. I don’t find that interesting. Still, I do think it’s important to at least imply limits, so that the readers know they do exist.
