Rage of the Tiger

Like his teacher, Enigma, Edmund is someone who finds it difficult to turn away from people preying upon others. Unlike Enigma, who would be more subtle, Edmund is more likely to enter fly off the handle and dive directly into the fray.

Fortunately for everyone involved, he’s got a heart of gold to go with that temper. He knows not to go overboard, which prevents him from doing any permanent damage. Still, best not to pick on anybody in his presence.

It’s gotten him in a ton of trouble, but the people he’s helped are more than willing to vouch for his character. For his part, Enigma is just hoping he can help temper the young man’s ferocity into something more manageable.

Another wonderful piece from the ever reliable Marsel-Defender, commissioned in September of 2019.

If I had to describe the initial concept behind Edmund as a character, it would be the “anti-bully”. In other words, he’s the guy his peers can go to if they’re being harassed, abused, or picked on, and he would do what he could to make it stop. Of course, that usually meant beating up the people responsible, but it was a solution all the same.

I’ve toned that down in the years since, but only slightly. By and large, this still remains the kind of person Edmund is to this day. He fights people who make others miserable, and he’s more than happy to do it. And for everyone else, he’s one of the friendliest and encouraging guys they’ll ever know.

In other words, the kind of person many of us wanted in our corner growing up.
