Rabrandt, Eorzean Ninja

Like many Warriors of Light, Rabrandt is a man of many talents, particularly in the theater of war.

While the power of the Dark Knight will always be one he holds close, it is far from his only discipline. Sometimes, there is a need for a stealthier, and more direct style of fighting. The kind employed by the shinobi of Doma.

His powerful build belies his uncanny ability to wield a knife in the dark. Take heart, for this Hrothgar fights to keep others safe. No goodly soul need fear the wrath of a Warrior of Light prowling the night.

This piece from LittleBadWolf in April of 2021 depicts my FF XIV character in a glamour I can’t say I’ve made much use of in the past few years, since Endwalker dropped. It’s a shame too, because I’m actually rather fond of the look. Since ninjas are supposed to blend in, I figured some stylish, but otherwise normal looking clothing would make for the perfect outfit.

I figured at the time that I needed to have at least one physical DPS in my rotation, but one of the available options during Shadowbringers appealed to me. I chose Ninja because it was the one I was “most comfortable” with, but now that we have Reaper and Viper I find myself much happier with those options.

And in hindsight, I can’t say I’m terribly happy with the “lore” piece I’ve written here. It feels amateur in retrospect. Still, the art looks incredible, especially when framed by a custom MTG card.
