It’s been a number of years since I started taking my writing seriously, and in that time I’ve had a number of people reach out to me to express how much they adore my work. But in all of that praise, there is one criticism that has bugged me for the longest time.
Many people have rightfully expressed an annoyance that it they want to start delving into the world and lore that I’ve build up for myself, it is exceedingly difficult to do that because all of it is on FurAffinity, and badly sorted as a result. As I move my work from there to here, I intend to make robust use of tagging and category systems to make this place significantly easier to traverse, such that I have a place to point to for people who are eager to learn more. It will take time, but I am confident that I can make this place into a powerful resource to learn about Enigma and the rest of the “Crossroads Crew”.
But that is not the only reason a site like this needs to exist. As I hear news of websites getting shut down, even ones from institutions I once considering infallible, a growing fear in the back of my mind stems from relying on services that I don’t pay for, nor control, to host all of the art and writing that I’ve made over the years. By creating this space, and paying for its upkeep out of my own pocket, I hope to either blunt or completely stave off the aftershocks if something like FurAffinity or Google Docs were to get terminated, erasing everything I’ve ever built.
This digital archive will serve as a further backup for my physical archive, one that others can access if they wish to know about my characters and the tales they take part in.
