Help is on the Way

Not every job an adventurer can take requires a brute capable of dealing out or taking punishment, or a magician who can pelt their foes from a distance. Some require heroes of another type, who can deliver succor to the sick and wounded.

And after his recent exploits in Sharlayan, Rabrandt has become adept at one such art: the art of a Sharlayan Sage. Using magical drones called nouliths, a Sage can use their combined knowledge of sorcery, anatomy, and medicine to defend their charges with barriers, channeling the runoff from their limited offensive magic into healing for their shielded comrades.

When they see him, allies and civilians alike know they’re in good hands. With his mastery of his own aether, Rabrandt the Sage will keep them alive and well.

Though the case of this piece from Seiryuuden from October of 2022 is yet another in a long line lore regurgitation, I’m still incredibly fond of the art.

One of the biggest problems facing healers in Final Fantasy XIV is that so many of their glamours for the role consist of long, flowing robes. There are options, but only if you know where to look. When people see this picture, they ask if this glamour is even possible in case. (Fun fact: It is.)

It’s by far one of my most stylish creations in the game, and one I’m always happy to show off.
