Fists of Steel

While Edmund is as much a curious mind as Enigma is, which is why the detective-Planeswalker has chosen to teach him, it’s also no secret that he is much less reserved that his instructor.

Enigma had to be taught how to fight. His training is formal, provided by the Theorum Magistrum. Edmund learned how to fight the hard way: By getting into enough of them that he figured it out as he went along. For this reason, he’s much less likely to brandish a weapon and go straight into fisticuffs.

The commission came from Marsel-Defender back in late October of 2019. I was quite happy with my new tiger character, and eager to distinguish him from his master, Enigma. Thus, I had him in scenes that the good Professor Rabrandt would never be caught in, like a fist fight for example.

The goal was for him to grow into his own flavor of detective, separate from what Enigma does. And I believe I performed well in setting up the groundwork here, even if there’s still work left to do.
