Conducting the Storm (Card)

Naturally, I was going to use Marsel‘s artwork for an MTG card.

I’ve always been fond of word play, so comparing a lightning storm to a symphony because both can be “conducted” was the first place my mind went when exploring flavorful concepts that Edmund could work with.

I admit that the cost is an aggressive one, but I figured the fact that it was a sorcery rather than an instant would allow me justify only making this a 3-mana effect. Most instant speed draw spells in Standard cost 4-mana for 2 cards, and I figured in a 1-v-1 it was unlikely you’d get a storm count of more than 2 or 3 in a single turn.

And the card has to have Storm on it. Edmund is a storm mage, so it’s only natural to mechanically lean into that.
