Spellsword of Another Stripe
At this point, everyone knows that once Enigma is bonded to his Companion and achieves Perfect Bond, sometime after the Volpes incident, he becomes an adept spellsword, able to utilize swordplay with his own psionic magic.
What is not as well known is that the inspiration for this comes from his own apprentice, Edmund. By far more adept fighter between the two of them due to his street brawling and troublemaking background, Edmund had been eager to take his lessons in martial arts and magic to heart, and started combining the two disciplines into a combat style all his own.
Wielding the sword with grace belying his gruff, bulky exterior, Edmund can utilize his own lightning and channel it into the weapon. The force of his own incredible strength, when bolstered by paralyzing, magical lightning, creates a punch that can knock out most opponents, armored or otherwise. That is if a heavily muscled tigerkin with an electric sword isn’t enough to send them packing from the sheer sight.
Enigma makes no effort to show that his apprentice is more than the brutish young man he appears at his glance. In his view, it is more than obvious that he is as thoughtful and intelligent as he is strong. In many respects, the tigerkin is even more capable than his master.
He can only smile when he thinks of his protege’s progress. The makings of the next great detective are plain to see.
Yet another in the long line of lore pieces from LittleBadWolf, this time in August of 2022, that presupposed that Perfect Bond Enigma would still be a thing long term.
While I enjoy mundane uses of magic power, I also enjoy finding ways in which they get be used to augment the other skills of the people who possess them. If I was Edmund, and I had lightning magic and steel weaponry, I can only assume that I would also combine the two, since steel conducts electricity.
I imagine that cuts from such a charged blade could cause numbness and paralysis in their victims, and Edmund is smart enough to use that to his advantage.
