A Moment of Solitude

As a natural consequence of possessing the rare talent to travel between worlds, it is common for Planeswalkers to lead lives of relative solitude compared to ordinary people. Even the most well-meaning and open-minded people still have to cross the cultural barrier before they can start to truly understand one another. Until then, there’s always an unspoken emotional distance.

Even with all his experience, there are occasions where Enigma too encounters this difficulty, and it can be taxing to overcome it. When he finds himself exhausted, his introverted personality will seek a quiet place to simply relax, that he may have a chance to recover his social stamina.

He’ll get back to the knowledge-seeking he enjoys so much, that he may help his students see and hear how wonderous the multiverse is. But for now, it’s enough to take the scenery with chilly, gentle cold washing over him.

I imagine that Enigma enjoys the act of traveling the multiverse. And yet, I also imagine that such travel would come with difficulties, such that even he would need a moment to himself every one and then. One like him would need coping mechanisms to deal with the stress when it inevitably flares up.

And I also must admit that I find a beauty in these lonely, melancholic moments.
