Azurium, Ranger Corp Captain

And of course, a new era for Azurium needs to have a custom MTG card to go with it, using the artwork I got from Marsel-Defender in November of 2023.

Though some friends helped me with templating, this card was more-or-less fully formed right out of the gate. Mechanically, his abilities team up to represent how he guides people back to where they belong, and protects them from the threats of the forest by intimidating the weaker predator species. And his color pie adjustment reflects his new attitude (while still fitting inside Volpes’s color identity).

More than that though, this is something of an in-joke with one of my Commander pods. Due to the type of Magic I am know for, it’s common for people to run Homeward Path against me. With that in mind, why not see how we could best abuse Homeward Path and similar effects to create something truly obnoxious.

I have a deck built for it, but it remains untested.
